Silk Weaving

Whitchurch Silk Mill has ensured that the craft of silk weaving has been passed down through generations.
Today our woven organzine, twills and herringbones with their fresh contemporary designs and classic colourways, continue that heritage on this carefully protected site.

Learn more about the production process of Whitchurch Silk in the video below.

We preserve traditional heritage silk weaving skills, weaving on looms that date back to the 1890s, and by maintaining our collection of historic machinery. Because of our care and traditional processes, production is not fast; delivery of a 150m order of silk can take up to 16 weeks, but the time spent is well worth it for the beauty and timelessness of the result!

By weaving exclusive fabrics for today’s luxury market, we are securing the future of the methods, skills, traditions and knowledge that have existed at the Mill since 1815. You can browse our range of quality scarves, giftware and accessories in our shop, either at the Mill or in our online shop.
