The Sophia – Whitchurch Silk scarf

£110

Spring is here with this stunning Limited Edition silk scarf in our ‘Herstory’ collection. Named after Sophia Whipp nee Hutchence, who alongside her two sisters, were silk winders and employed as child workers in the early days of the Mill. By 1851, Sophia had married William Whipp, the staffman at the Mill, before they moved to the cottages next door. Sophia spent her entire working life as a silk worker, a career of some 60 years.

A design inspired by one of the silks in our archive, we have reinvented this in a silk organzine in either a chevron or a textured pattern. 1,078 ends in colours Ella, Mauve, Boston, Banana & Melba, giving a perfect Ombre pastel colourway.

Available in either a chevron or textured woven structure in a range of different colourways. Please call ahead to discuss available designs on 01256 892065 or scarf will be chosen at random.

Price includes Whitchurch Silk giftbox. Scan the QR code on the label to find out more about how our silk is woven.
