The Mill will reopen on Monday 17th May, when we will welcome back visitors. Although some restrictions have eased, our social distancing restrictions will remain in place, so that you can safely and confidently enjoy your visit.
Whitchurch Silk Mill is renowned for preserving the tradition of silk weaving. It has lots more to offer as a working museum, with special exhibitions, a gift shop, and a riverside cafe, a fantastic place to visit which avoids the overcrowded tourist hotspots.
In celebration of the re-opening, we have created a new exhibition, reinstated all our hands-on activities and all our windows were washed inside and out. That’s 800 panes of glass! A proper challenge for the window cleaners.
To say a big thank you for all the support local people have given us this year, from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 May 2021, we will be offering free entry to local people. Open 10.30 am to 5 pm throughout the week, with the last admission at 4.30 pm. To redeem this offer all you need is to bring a utility bill or identity card showing your address and for free entry for yourself, your family, or a friend you are with.
