In aid of living weaving heritage at Whitchurch Silk Mill
Textiles made of natural materials normally decay quickly. Angela will present examples of textiles which have been preserved. Although many spindle whorls and loom weights have survived for thousands of years, most evidence about weaving looms has been preserved as pictures. She will explain how the equipment, such as the Mill’s working collection of heritage weaving machinery, has evolved from these looms.
Tea and coffee will be available for donation.
