Become a Silk Mill Patron and help weave the future of Whitchurch Silk

Whitchurch Silk Mill was built in 1815 on the banks of the River Test in rural Hampshire, England. It is the UK’s last working mill still weaving silk in its original, Georgian building. The Mill is a unique living link to our industrial past, where fine cloth is still expertly woven using historic machinery and traditional heritage skills.

Today, the Mill operates as a working museum, delighting those who visit and preserving the critically endangered skills of silk weaving, ribbon weaving, and millwrighting. A small but highly skilled team keep this gem of industrial heritage alive, creating exquisite artisan cloth while passing on skills to future generations.

The Mill’s remarkable 210 year legacy is at risk. As a registered charity (900621), the Mill relies on the generosity of supporters to continue its work. Your donation helps to safeguard heritage skills, maintain our precious collection of historic machinery and to inspire thousands of visitors each year.

With your support, we can preserve Whitchurch Silk Mill for generations to come. Join as a Mill Patron today and become part of the Living Weaving Heritage at Whitchurch Silk Mill.
