Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have been able to greatly improve physical access to the Mill.

Admission for carers
Free admission for carers – please ask at reception on arrival.

Parking
On arrival, there are two disabled vehicle spaces situated outside the front of the shop and cafe building. If these are full, there are an additional two spaces in the neighbouring public carpark.

Wheelchair / Mobility Scooter Access
The Mill is now fitted with a platform lift which will allow visitors to reach the middle and top floors without using the stairs. The lift is reached by entering the Mill building at the main entrance by the waterwheel. The platform lift cannot accommodate mobility scooters, we have a wheelchair available if required.

Accessible Toilet Facilities
We have accessible toilets in our Welcome Building at ground level and on the middle floor of the Mill.

Assistance Dogs
We welcome assistance dogs wearing the relevant harness.

Visual and Sensory Resources
Our Welcome Building containing the shop and Riverside Café is bright with lots of natural light coming through large windows. A large print menu is available on request.
Within the Mill our interpretation includes a video with sound and subtitles, handling objects and a touch screen explanation of the waterwheel.
